As the leading medical recruitment agency in South Africa, our client has an exciting opportunity for a Nursing Services Manager to be based in Cape Town, on the West Coast.

The Opportunity
This role offers an experienced nursing leader the opportunity to take full responsibility for the overall management of nursing services within the hospital. The Nursing Services Manager will lead multidisciplinary teams, drive quality patient care initiatives, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to the operational and financial performance of the hospital. 
 
Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and management of all nursing services within the hospital
• Ensure delivery of safe, cost-effective, and high quality patient care
• Lead, mentor and develop nursing staff through coaching, training and performance management
• Oversee nursing workforce planning, staffing levels and skill mix to ensure optimal patient care
• Ensure compliance with professional nursing standards, regulatory requirements and hospital policies
• Drive clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives and risk management processes
• Manage nursing budgets and contribute to the financial sustainability of the hospital
• Build strong relationships with doctors, multidisciplinary teams, patients and external stakeholders
• Oversee stock management, billing processes and clinical department operational efficiency
• Monitor key clinical indicators including patient safety, infection control and quality outcomes

 
Requirements

• Diploma in General Nursing or B Cur Degree (NQF 7)
• Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse
• Post-basic qualification in a clinical specialty such as Infection Control or Health & Safety advantageous
• A relevant business or management qualification would be beneficial
• Minimum of 5 years' management experience within a private hospital environment
• Strong knowledge of healthcare legislation, clinical governance and quality management
• Proven leadership ability with strong people management and stakeholder engagement skills
• Sound financial understanding and ability to manage budgets and operational costs
• Intermediate computer proficiency
