We are seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to join our project delivery team in a 100% site-based role supporting major construction projects across the East Coast.
This role is ideal for a hands-on HSE professional with a strong construction background who thrives in dynamic, high-risk environments and enjoys working closely with frontline teams to deliver real safety outcomes.
About the Role
As an HSE Advisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe delivery of complex infrastructure projects. This is a frontline, operational role—not a desk-based compliance position—where your impact will be visible every day on site.
You will work closely with supervisors, engineers, and subcontractors to embed a strong safety culture and ensure all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

• Roster: 5:2 or 10:4 (depending on project requirements)
• Location: North Queensland (project-based)
• Engagement: Maximum-term contract with potential for permanency
• Travel: Site-based role with uplift and allowances

Key Responsibilities

• Provide frontline HSE leadership across major construction projects
• Support high-risk activities, including:
• Work at heights
• Electrical works and isolations
• Heavy plant and lifting operations
• Civil, trenching, and excavation works
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and field leadership activities
• Identify, assess, and control hazards and risks on site
• Lead and support incident investigations, including root cause analysis
• Support permit-to-work systems and critical risk controls
• Coach, mentor, and influence teams to improve safety behaviours
• Maintain accurate HSE reporting, documentation, and compliance

About You
You are a practical, proactive, and solutions-focused HSE professional who is confident engaging with teams on site and influencing safe work practices.

• 7+ years’ experience in high-risk construction or infrastructure
• Strong operational construction experience (essential)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Proven ability to influence and build strong working relationships
• Hands-on, pragmatic approach to safety leadership

Qualifications

• Cert IV in Work Health & Safety (minimum)
• White Card
• Valid Driver’s Licence
• First Aid / CPR

Desirable Experience

• ICAM or formal incident investigation training
• Experience in EPC, utilities, or renewable energy projects
• Knowledge of ISO standards and FSC management systems
• Exposure to HV or electrical infrastructure projects
