About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Advisor to join our Finance team in South Brisbane. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Processing

• End-to-end processing of fortnightly payroll
• Maintain employee records including new starters, changes, and terminations
• Calculate leave entitlements, overtime, and allowances
• Process superannuation, PAYG, and other deductions accurately

Advisory & Support

• Respond to employee payroll queries in a timely and professional manner
• Provide guidance to managers and internal stakeholders
• Interpret awards and employment agreements

Compliance & Reporting

• Ensure compliance with Fair Work legislation, ATO, and NES requirements
• Prepare and submit STP reporting
• Assist with year-end processes and audits

Team Contribution

• Collaborate with Finance and People & Culture teams
• Contribute to team initiatives and process improvements

Continuous Improvement

• Support system enhancements and automation
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes

About You Essential:

• Minimum 2+ years’ experience in payroll
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, tax, and superannuation
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Experience using accounting systems (Pronto highly regarded)

Desirable:

• Experience in complex or multi-entity payroll environments
• Exposure to HRIS systems
• Knowledge of Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements
• Background in industrial, resources, or professional services sectors
