• Create, configure, and maintain database objects, including tables, indexes, views, stored procedures, triggers, schemas, and related database components.
• Monitor, analyze, and optimize database performance through query optimization, index management, execution-plan analysis, capacity planning, and configuration tuning.
• Conduct regular database performance assessments and implement improvements to sustain optimal response times, throughput, availability, and system reliability.
• Develop, implement, test, and maintain database backup, recovery, retention, and disaster-recovery strategies that protect data integrity and availability.
• Perform routine backups, recovery validation, restore testing, and recovery drills to verify that databases can be restored following system failures, data corruption, or disaster events.
• Implement, enforce, and continuously improve database security policies, procedures, and technical controls.
• Administer database user accounts, access permissions, roles, authentication, authorization, encryption, data masking, and audit controls in accordance with organizational policies and compliance requirements.
• Monitor databases for performance degradation, error conditions, resource constraints, security events, and potential operational issues using approved monitoring and alerting tools.
• Perform recurring database maintenance activities, including patching, upgrades, statistics updates, index maintenance, archival activities, and storage optimization.
• Provide technical support and advanced troubleshooting for database-related incidents, service requests, application issues, connectivity problems, and data-performance concerns.
• Collaborate with application developers, system administrators, cloud engineers, and other technical staff to diagnose and resolve database issues and implement reliable solutions.
