Role: Senior Product Engineer in Healthcare Software.
Location: 100% Remote.
 
Job Description:
In healthcare IT, a Product Engineer often focuses on developing specific software applications or modules that are part of a larger healthcare system.

This could include electronic health records (EHR) systems, patient management software, telehealth solutions, or diagnostic tools.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Feature Development: Design and implement new features based on healthcare provider or patient needs. This could involve creating interfaces for patient data entry, developing algorithms for diagnostic support, or integrating with medical devices.
• Compliance and Security: Ensure that the product complies with healthcare regulations, such as HIPAA in the United States, which governs the privacy and security of patient information.
• User Experience (UX): Focus on creating an intuitive and user-friendly experience for healthcare professionals and patients, considering the diverse range of users from different medical backgrounds.
• Testing and Validation: Conduct rigorous testing, including usability testing and clinical validation, to ensure the product meets quality and safety standards.
• Interoperability Standards: Implement standards like HL7, CCDA, FHIR, and others that facilitate the exchange of healthcare information across different systems.

• Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards.
• Proficiency in healthcare-specific programming languages and frameworks.
• Familiarity with HL7, FHIR, and other healthcare data standards.
