Our client, a highly respected school, is revamping their payroll team to boost efficiency and ensure seamless operations. Instead of one person juggling it all, payroll duties will be split between two Payroll Officers. Right now, they’re hiring the first one! Then, a second Payroll Officer will join to complete the dream team.
Who are you?
You’re a payroll whizz with 10+ years of experience in a large organisation. You know payroll legislation inside out, can navigate enterprise agreements with ease, and taxation laws don’t scare you. You’re all about accuracy, confidentiality and making sure everyone gets paid correctly and on time. If you’ve worked with Synergetic, in the education sector or in a two person payroll team, bonus points!
Day to day
Process end to end fortnightly payroll with precision.
Ensure compliance with enterprise agreements, awards and legislation.
Maintain accurate employee records and process salary sacrifice payments.
Reconcile superannuation and payroll general ledger accounts.
Collaborate with HR and Finance to ensure payroll accuracy.
Respond to employee payroll queries with confidence.
Assist with end of year reporting, audits and compliance tasks.
Keep payroll systems running smoothly and seek process improvements.
Manage leave, time in lieu (TiL) and long service leave records.
What's in your toolkit?
10+ years of payroll experience in a large organisation.
Strong knowledge of payroll compliance, taxation and awards.
Proficiency with payroll systems (Synergetic experience = gold!).
Advanced Excel skills for reporting and reconciliation.
Discretion, attention to detail and a problem solving mindset.
