Our client’s growing feedlot, home to 1,000 head of cattle and increasing, is actively seeking a committed Feedlot Hand. This role is perfect for individuals or couples with a deep interest in agriculture, especially within the beef sector.

Key Details:

• Location: Near Cecil Plains, Dalby, and Toowoomba
• Work Schedule: 10 days on, 4 days off

Responsibilities:

• Operate a diverse array of machinery essential to daily feedlot operations, ensuring efficient process flow.
• Manage feeding of commodities to livestock, maintaining precise feeding schedules and quantities.
• Perform general feedlot duties including trough cleaning, moving cattle, and inspecting cattle health. Ability to identify and proactively respond to issues as they arise.
• Maintain property through tasks such as fencing and repairs, slashing, spraying, and mowing.
• Engage in animal husbandry, oversee the health and welfare of all animals, perform regular health checks and ensure optimal living conditions.
• Conduct data entry for accurate record keeping, perform pen walking to monitor animal behavior and health, and support other necessary feedlot operations.

Training and Requirements:

• Comprehensive training provided. Previous experience is beneficial but not required.
• Outside training and certification as required for this position.
• Strong work ethic and reliable work-related references required.
• A valid driver's license and personal vehicle are necessary.

Compensation:

• Wages are negotiable based on skills and experience.
