UON is a Western Australian integrated energy company providing turnkey energy and water solutions to the mining sector and beyond.   Central to this is helping our customers on their decarbonisation journey utilising the technology, skills and real experience of team members across the business.  

UON’s business centres around the design, manufacturing, supply, construction and maintenance of remote, off-grid power and water infrastructure, with many of the products manufactured in UON’s Malaga facility, based on proprietary and patented designs.
 
Your main responsibilities will include:

• Preparation of the monthly consolidated profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow statement.
• Preparation and submission of quarterly compliance reports (incl. covenants reporting and Australian Bureau of Statistics).
• Be the leading role and first point of contact in the year end audit and statutory reporting process by preparing the full year audited financial statements and tax effect accounting workings.
• Administration of UON’s accounting software maintaining the integrity of the general ledger and chart-of-accounts.
• Assist with implementing, maintaining and improving internal financial controls.
• Collaborate with the senior-leadership-team in the preparation of the annual budget.
• Track key performance indicators and assess financial performance against budget and forecast.
• Accurate and timely production of other financial reports as required.
• Ensure reporting deadlines are met and compliance with financial procedures are adhered to.
• Perform any additional tasks as required from time to time.

 
Skills & Experience

• Tertiary Degree in Accounting.
• CA/CPA qualification.
• Previous experience within big 4 / mid-tier firm is highly desirable.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience within finance and accounting.
• Previous experience in statutory reporting and compliance including preparation of consolidated financial statements and tax effect accounting.
• Intermediate/Advanced Excel and Power BI skills.
