UON’s business centres around the design, manufacturing, supply, construction and maintenance of remote, off-g rid power and water infrastructure, with many of the products manufactured in UON’s Malaga facility, based on proprietary and patented designs.  

UON is currently seeking a motivated Apprentice Mechanical Fitter to join the Energy team at our Malaga yard.

Our requirements for you to be an Apprentice at UON: 

• Hold Mechanical Fitter apprenticeships or completion of relevant pre-apprentice qualifications (essential)
• Previous experience working as a TA. (essential)
• Committed to a 4 year apprenticeship (essential)
• Pass a pre-employment medical and Drug & Alcohol screen (essential)
• Experience within the manufacturing industry (preferred)
• Hold a current and valid WA manual driver’s license (preferred)
• Forklift ticket (preferred)

 
  Your main responsibilities will include:  

• Attend and successfully complete all scheduled block release sessions at the nominated educational facility (TAFE)).
• Successfully complete all skills assessments, attend all required workshops, and participate in all learning opportunities made available.
• Support qualified mechanical fitters in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of machinery, tools, and equipment
• Interpret mechanical blueprints and diagrams to understand machine assembly and repair processes.
• Undertake and complete all allocated tasks/work in line with UON’s business standards.
• Complete works in any of the UON workshops and or travel to other sites as and when required.
