A warm, creative Chelsea family is seeking a professional, energetic, and genuinely engaged full-time nanny to join their household long-term. This role is ideal for a nanny who loves active days, meaningful connections, and being a trusted partner to kind, hands-on parents.
The family has a joyful three-year-old and a five-month-old, and they are excited to welcome a nanny who brings enthusiasm, emotional intelligence, and a collaborative mindset to their home. The parents value open communication, mutual respect, and treating their nanny as an important part of the family team.
The Role This is a guaranteed 50-hour/week position designed for a reliable, flexible nanny who appreciates consistency and long-term stability. While the toddler attends school for part of the day, the nanny remains fully on the clock and should be available to adjust as needed for illness, school closures, or additional coverage.
The core schedule is Monday–Friday from 9:00 AM–7:00 PM. The family also values some flexibility for occasional evening coverage, dinners, special events, or weekend needs. That said, they are thoughtful planners and are open to using trusted backup sitters when additional coverage is needed, ensuring a balanced and sustainable schedule.
A typical structure includes:
- Monday–Friday: 9:00 AM–7:00 PM
- Occasional evenings, dinners, or special events with advance notice
- Rare weekend coverage when needed, with flexibility and additional compensation
- Extensive summer travel and occasional trips throughout the year
This role requires comfort with travel, including spending summers at the family’s Massachusetts home.
Key Responsibilities
- School pickups and afternoon care for the toddler
- Planning engaging, developmentally appropriate outings (parks, classes, playdates)
- Encouraging imaginative play, creativity, and one-on-one connection
- Supporting routines, transitions, and age-appropriate independence
- Child-related meal/snack prep, tidying, and light organization
- Occasional infant support in the future alongside the primary baby nurse
- Traveling with the family during the summer and select trips
- Maintaining clear, thoughtful communication with parents
The Ideal Candidate
- Energetic, physically active, and able to keep up with a social, playful toddler
- Truly enjoys hands-on engagement—getting on the floor, playing, exploring
- Emotionally intelligent, communicative, and comfortable working with involved parents
- Flexible, dependable, and team-oriented
- Confident navigating NYC with young children
- A genuine dog lover (the family has one very sweet—but vocal—pup!)
- Open to occasional evenings, events, and rare weekends with notice
- Seeking a long-term, meaningful role
Please note: due to a severe household allergy, no cats. Compensation & Benefits
- $35–$40/hour depending on experience
- Guaranteed 50 hours per week
- Overtime paid accordingly
- MetroCard provided
- Paid vacation, holidays, and sick days
- Additional overnight stipend when traveling
This is a truly special opportunity for a career nanny who wants to feel appreciated, trusted, and deeply valued. The parents fondly remember the impact of their own childhood nanny and are excited to build that same warm, lasting bond for their children—rooted in play, curiosity, and connection.
If you’re looking for a long-term role with kind parents, an engaging schedule, and a household that genuinely values their nanny, this may be a wonderful fit.
