Tendering Engineer - Private Networks
Are you ready to deliver competitive, high-quality tenders that shape the future of the UK’s private network infrastructure?
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Tendering Engineer to support the development and delivery of High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) private network projects across industrial, commercial, renewable and critical infrastructure sectors.
You’ll take ownership of tenders from preparation through to handover, working closely with internal teams and clients to ensure accuracy, compliance and commercially robust submissions. This role places you at the heart of project success - strengthening client relationships, supporting sales objectives and contributing to the growth of a dynamic Private Networks division.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage tenders for Private Network projects, ensuring accuracy, quality and timely submission.
- Produce competitive bids aligned with ISO 9001 processes.
- Support senior team members in achieving sales targets and tendering strategies.
- Build strong client relationships and offer technical guidance where required.
- Identify and manage risks throughout the tender process.
- Coordinate smooth handovers to project teams.
- Maintain documentation in line with the Business Management System.
- Continue personal CPD to stay up to date with utilities and private network developments.
What You’ll Bring Essential: - Experience in a fast-paced sales or tendering environment within utilities, construction or engineering.
- Proven ability to meet sales targets and produce accurate quotations.
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in sales, engineering, construction or management.
- Knowledge of MEICA, transmission & distribution networks or utility construction environments.
- Understanding of CDM 2015 regulations.
- Experience in design development for electrical networks.
- Competence in AutoCAD, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to produce baseline tender programmes.
- Relevant certifications such as CSCS/EUSR/ECS and First Aid at Work.
Desirable: - Experience tendering LV installations, EV charging, renewable energy projects or IDNO substations.
- MIET (or working towards membership).
- Understanding of control, protection and automation schemes.
- Experience working under formal construction contracts.
- Familiarity with Trimble (or similar software).
- Project management experience.
