About the Company
This respected, family-owned nursery is a key supplier to Australia’s top retail and hardware chains. The Grower/Agronomist will oversee and mentor experienced team leaders, including the Crop Care Manager, Irrigation Manager, and Propagation Manager, managing a team of 70 staff. The nursery operates year-round, focusing on indoor, tropical, and flowering potted and hanging basket plants.

About the Role
The Grower/Agronomist is a permanent, hands-on position responsible for managing the nursery’s daily propagation, fertigation, and growing operations to deliver high-quality plants. Key responsibilities include:

• Overseeing propagation, production, and agronomy processes, including the cultivation of existing and new plant varieties, with a focus on quality assurance.
• Supporting the General Manager in achieving production targets while upholding product quality standards.
• Planning and managing planting schedules and rotations to optimise seasonal production.
• Directing crop care, fertigation, and irrigation activities to promote healthy growth and yield.

About You
To excel in this role, you’ll bring:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications or substantial industry training.
• Strong staff management and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and motivate teams.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, along with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• A collaborative approach, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to developing your career.
