Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a local authority in Bedfordshire, are looking for an experienced Solicitor to join their team and play a crucial role in their social care operations. 

Position: Solicitor
Salary: £55,293 to £58,737 per annum (Umbrella)  
Contract: Permanent 
Working Pattern: Hybrid - Mix of Home and Office/Onsite 

Key Responsibilities:

• To contribute to the provision of a comprehensive high quality legal service.
• The main focus of the post is: adult social care, immigration and education work including special educational needs.
• To provide legal advice to client teams on adult social care matters including the Care Act 2014, immigration, ordinary residence, no recourse to public funds, deprivation of liberty, mental health, mental capacity, persons with physical difficulties, persons with learning difficulties, human rights matters and adult safeguarding.
• To prepare cases for the Court of Protection and as required and to advise generally upon the conduct of each case.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 2 years’ experience within a Solicitor role or equivalent in relation to construction. 
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
• Admitted Solicitor or Barrister or Fellow of Institute of Legal Executive (England and Wales) with current Practising Certificate and relevant post qualification experience.
• Demonstrate substantial knowledge of, and/or significant experience of working within, local authority law and practice in adult social care law, with some experience in immigration law, childcare law or education including special educational needs.
