Are you a recent high school or college graduate?    Are you interested in gaining experience in accounting?    Would you like to work with a highly regarded and high-profile company in the Washington, DC area?   If so, R & W Group has a great new temporary opportunity!  One of our favorite corporate clients is looking for a recent college grad or junior Accounts Payable specialist to assist the accounting department with invoices.   Note: this position is fully in-office in DC (Metro accessible).   It is Monday – Thursday only, 30 – 32 hours/week.   The company is willing to train you if you do not have the requested experience but you must be interested in learning.   You must work well with computers, be able to focus on the invoice details, and feel comfortable looking up prior invoices to see how they were coded.
 
In this role, your responsibilities would be:
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
 

• Uploading and coding invoices
• Responding to vendor requests
• Handling rejected invoices
• Looking up prior invoices to how they were coded

 
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• Ability to complete work with a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and have general math skills
• Proficiency in MS Office, including the ability to operate computerized accounting and spreadsheet programs
• Ability to work within set standards and procedures, be able to receive guidance, supervision, follow work rules, safety, and security practices, and meet deadlines
• Must possess analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Must possess effective verbal, listening, and written communication skills

 
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or GED; Associates Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred
• Some level of data entry experience
• Accounts Payable experience preferred but not required
• Nexus Payables experience preferred but not required
