Endurance's Abra Mine is located approximately 220km north of Meekatharra, in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia. The underground mine represents one of the world's cleanest and largest lead-silver projects.
 
Join Our Growing Team
 
Step up at Endurance as a Senior Mine Geologist (Site Based) and take on a pivotal role in our underground mining operations. This position offers the opportunity to lead geological activities, manage a dedicated team, and contribute to the success of our mining operations through expert geological analysis and grade control management.
 
What You'll Do:
 
Leadership

• Plan, design and supervise resource definition and grade control drilling programs to accurately delineate the orebody ahead of mining
• Oversee geological mapping processes, ensuring outputs are incorporated into 3D Geological models and maintain high-quality sampling methods
• Mentor and supervise the Mine Geology team

Underground Geology

• Coordinate all geological activities for the underground mining operation
• Provide and validate sectional interpretation of resource definition and grade control data and produce validated wireframe models
• Produce grade control block models including reconciliation feedback
• Review 3 month schedules (3MS)  and coordinate geological risks with the technical services team
• Maintain the highest standards of data collection and management and monitor QA/QC
• Ensure that all geological activities are carried out to the highest standard of safety in accordance with Company policies and workplace safety and environmental regulations

Analysis & Reporting

• Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports on grade control drilling, ore reconciliation, mine geology, and grade drivers
• Communicate geological, geotechnical, and grade information to site technical, management, and contract personnel to assist with mine planning and in achieving production targets

Continuous Improvement

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the Mining department
• Identify opportunities and solutions to improve process and performance

 
What We're Looking For
 
Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Geology
• Current WA "C" Class driver's license with 4WD competency
• Statutory Supervisor training or willingness to achieve in near term

Essential Experience:

• Minimum 6 years experience within the resources sector, with significant experience with underground production
• Experienced in mining processes in an underground environment
• Experienced in data management and validation processes

Technical Expertise:

• Advanced computer literacy skills with strong Microsoft Office suite skills
• Advanced skills in geological modelling software with preference for Leapfrog Geo
• Awareness of the Mines Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations
• An advanced understanding of ore-forming processes and 3D modelling techniques

• Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical and numerical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Unwavering commitment to safety and professional excellence
• Natural leadership qualities with mentoring experience
