Be a part of our success story
Endurance Mining Pty Ltd has emerged stronger than ever with a dynamic new management team and fresh vision for commercial success. Having successfully navigated through voluntary administration, we're now positioned for growth and ready to unlock the full potential of our precious metals portfolio.
Endurance's Abra Mine is located approximately 220km north of Meekatharra, in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia. The underground mine represents one of the world's cleanest and largest silver-lead projects.
The Opportunity
We're seeking an experienced Occupational Hygienist to join our Workplace Health, Safety and Training (WHST) team at the Abra Mine. Reporting to the WHST Superintendent, this is a hands-on, site-based role where you will be the subject matter expert for all things occupational hygiene - providing critical expertise and exposure monitoring services, identifying workplace health risks, and driving the implementation of effective controls to protect our people.
Given the nature of our silver-lead operation, this role carries real technical depth and regulatory significance. You'll hold and fulfil the statutory requirements of the Mine Air Quality Officer (MAQO) and Noise Officer appointments, making this a genuinely impactful position for a hygiene professional looking to make their mark.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include
- Own and continuously improve the Health Management Plan, Health Risk Assessment, and Occupational Hygiene Monitoring Plan.
- Hold the statutory MAQO and Noise Officer appointments and fulfil all associated regulatory obligations.
- Conduct occupational exposure monitoring, potable water sampling, RPE and hearing protection fit testing programs.
- Perform workplace audits, health surveys, and verification of critical hygiene controls; lead investigations into exceedances and emerging health risks.
- Develop and promote initiatives around lead exposure management, workplace hygiene, and occupational health awareness training.
- Maintain the chemical register, SDS database, hygiene equipment calibration schedules, and all statutory records.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly hygiene analytics reports for internal stakeholders and LGIRS statutory reporting.
- Provide expert technical advice to operational leaders on hygiene risks, controls, and compliance obligations.
What You'll Bring
Qualifications & Licences - Degree in Occupational Hygiene or a related field.
- Mine Air Quality Officer (MAQO) and Noise Officer qualifications - or willingness to obtain.
- AIOH membership desirable.
- Current 'C' Class Western Australian driver's licence.
Experience & Knowledge - Minimum 5+ years' experience in mining or heavy industry hygiene; underground or processing background highly desirable.
- Experience with lead exposure management and psychosocial hazard risk management highly regarded.
- Sound knowledge of WHS Act and Regulations (WA), Workplace Exposure Standards, and monitoring equipment calibration requirements.
Skills & Personal Attributes - Engaging communicator and facilitator with well-developed influencing and consultation skills.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills; proven ability to manage complex situations and meet deadlines.
- Collaborative team player who builds close working relationships across all levels.
- Committed to promoting health and safety awareness in everything they do.
The Offer - FIFO 7/7 roster ex Perth or DIDO ex Meekatharra and surrounds
- Competitive, market-related remuneration based on experience
- Great camp, with sports court and a fully equipped gym
