We’re working with a leading education provider delivering vocational training inside a correctional environment in Sale. They’re looking for a Numeracy Teacher who can meet learners where they are—and help them build real, usable skills that carry beyond the classroom.
This is a part-time role (0.4 FTE – two full days per week), ideal for someone who wants meaningful impact without the full-time load.
The Role You’ll work alongside vocational teaching teams to deliver practical, tailored numeracy and foundation skills that connect directly to real-world pathways.
Think less chalk-and-talk… more “this is how it works on-site, in life, in a job.”
You’ll:

• Deliver engaging numeracy (and foundation skills) training aligned to vocational programs
• Help learners build confidence applying maths in everyday and workplace contexts
• Create a safe, respectful and inclusive learning environment
• Track and document student progress, assessments, and compliance requirements
• Work collaboratively with teaching teams to support student outcomes
• Ensure delivery aligns with national VET standards

About You You’re someone who understands that confidence often comes before competence—and knows how to build both.
You’ll likely bring:

• A TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
• One of the following:
  • TAESS00009 Address Foundation Skills in Vocational Practice (or equivalent), or
  • TAE80113 Graduate Diploma of Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Practice, or
  • Bachelor/Graduate Diploma/Certificate in Education (or higher)
• Experience teaching literacy and numeracy, ideally in adult or vocational settings
• Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to diverse learning needs
• Confidence working independently and within structured environments
• Solid computer skills and attention to detail
