Importantly, this role does not require a trade background. We are seeking someone with strong TAFE/VET experience, proven people leadership capability and the confidence to lead educators, manage performance, support quality delivery and build strong stakeholder relationships.

What you’ll be doing - Lead, support and mentor a team of educators and professional staff
- Oversee vocational education delivery, student outcomes and operational performance
- Drive improvements across teaching quality, engagement, retention and team capability
- Manage planning, budgets, resourcing and department performance
- Support compliance across VET, quality, audit and regulatory frameworks
- Build strong relationships with industry, employers, community partners and internal teams
- Lead continuous improvement across programs, systems, delivery and student experience
- Support staff development, performance planning, coaching and change management
- Contribute to strategic and operational planning for the faculty
What you’ll bring - Demonstrated experience within the TAFE/VET sector
- Strong people management and leadership capability
- Experience leading educators, trainers, professional staff or operational teams
- Sound understanding of vocational education delivery, quality and compliance
- Ability to manage performance, support staff and create a positive team culture
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and relationship-building skills
- Understanding of student outcomes, retention, training delivery and continuous improvement
- Confidence working with budgets, planning, reporting and operational priorities
- A practical, people-focused leadership style with the ability to lead through change
About you
You may currently be working as a Program Manager, Education Manager, Training Manager, Senior Educator, Curriculum Leader, Faculty Manager, RTO Manager, Campus Manager or similar within a TAFE, RTO or vocational education environment.
You will be someone who can lead people, not just tasks. You know how to support educators, manage competing priorities, improve delivery standards and bring people along with you. You will be confident operating in a compliance-focused environment while still keeping students, staff and outcomes at the centre of decision-making.
This is a role with real weight, supporting a department that delivers across multiple programs, a large student cohort and a sizeable team of educators and support staff.
