Are you someone who loves being out in industry as much as you enjoy shaping strategy behind the scenes? Do you thrive on building relationships, spotting emerging skills needs, and turning conversations into new training opportunities?
Our client is seeking a dynamic and well-connected manager to lead both product development, curriculum maintenance and industry engagement across critical sectors including Electrotechnology, Energy, Gas & Renewables, Automotive, and Transport & Logistics.
This is a senior, influential role at the intersection of education, industry, and government. You’ll act as a trusted connector. Listening to industry, translating workforce needs into training solutions, and helping shape the future of vocational education in Victoria.
About the role
In this role, you’ll combine strategic leadership with a strong networking and relationship-building focus. A significant part of your success will come from engaging industry bodies, employers, associations, and government stakeholders to identify emerging skills needs and support the development of new and updated programs.
You’ll be the kind of person who enjoys conversations that lead somewhere. New programs, stronger partnerships, better outcomes.
What you’ll do
- Lead product development and curriculum maintenance strategy across key trade and transport industries, aligned to state and industry priorities
- Actively engage industry stakeholders to identify skills gaps, emerging trends, and opportunities for new or enhanced training programs
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with employers, industry bodies, government agencies, and training providers
- Influence training product development and implementation at a state level
- Provide authoritative advice on workforce development, training reform, and best practice
- Champion quality, compliance, and continuous improvement across accredited training
- Represent the organisation in forums, working groups, and industry networks
- Use research, insights, and industry intelligence to inform strategy and innovation
This is a full-time, ongoing role based in Melbourne, with regular engagement across industry and stakeholder environments.
About you You’re a credible, confident relationship-builder who understands how industry really works and enjoys being the bridge between employers, education, and policy.
