Our client, a highly respected education provider, is seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Director - Teaching Development & Innovation to lead the development of its educator workforce and strengthen the use of innovative learning technologies across the organisation.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for enhancing teaching capability, embedding innovative learning design, and leading strategic improvements across Learning Management Systems and professional development frameworks.
About the Role
Reporting to the Executive Director – Academic Governance, this role will provide strategic leadership to the Teaching Development & Innovation team, driving initiatives that strengthen teaching practice, improve educator capability, and enhance the student learning experience.
The role will also provide oversight of the Training & Assessment (TAE) delivery and lead professional development initiatives for teaching staff across the organisation.
You will lead a team of specialists in learning design, multimedia development, educator capability, and LMS management, ensuring the organisation remains at the forefront of modern and technology-enabled learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight of the TAE program and educator development initiatives
- Drive organisation-wide professional development programs to enhance teaching capability
- Lead innovation in technology-enabled learning and blended delivery models
- Oversee the development and optimisation of the organisation’s Learning Management System (Moodle)
- Implement strategies to improve educator engagement, performance, and capability uplift
- Lead change initiatives to support modern teaching practices and digital learning environments
- Build a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Develop strong internal partnerships to strengthen learning and teaching outcomes
- Manage and mentor a team of five direct reports
- Work collaboratively with academic and operational leaders to ensure compliance with RTO standards and quality frameworks
About You
We are looking for an experienced education leader who can influence, innovate, and lead change within a complex educational environment.
You will bring:
- Extensive experience in education leadership within VET, higher education, or secondary sectors
- Demonstrated experience in change management and organisational transformation
- Strong people leadership and performance management capability, including uplifting team performance and capability
- Significant experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS), particularly Moodle
- Proven experience leading teaching development, curriculum innovation, and digital learning initiatives
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- A relevant qualification in Education or a related discipline
