Mary MacKillop Childcare North Queensland provides high-quality provision of care to families across the Diocese of Townsville, which stretches from Ingham in the North, Proserpine in the South, Mount Isa in the West and Palm Island to the East. We have grown to include 4 Early Learning Centres, 9 Kindergartens and 14 Outside School Hours Care centres.

St Michael's Kindergarten is situated within a remote Indigenous community on Palm Island. We are deeply committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for the youngest members of the local community.

We are seeking a Kindergarten Educator for a fixed term position. This role is 3 day per week (Tues, Wed, Thurs) and operates on a term-time-only basis. This opportunity requires travel to and from Palm Is. The successful applicant can choose to fly to and from the Island each day or remain on the Island Tuesday and Wednesday night and return on Thursday afternoon. Flights and/or accommodation costs are included for this role.

What you’ll need to succeed:

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education or ACECQA equivalent preferred.
• Understanding and knowledge of National Quality Framework and My Time Our Place Framework
• Experience working with First Nations families and children preferred. 
• Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
• Current First Aid Certificate Including CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis or ability to obtain before commencement
