We’re dee-lighted to be teaming up again with our pals (and partners) at Ryvalmedia to find a #veryimportantperson to join the crew - working right alongside the SLT to lift, shape, and level-up their account leadership into its next era.
This time, we’re after a Business Director.
AKA: a senior account / client / commercial leader with the depth, credibility, and chops to take things up a notch (or three).

You’re equal parts strategic brain and steady hands: you can steer strategy, drive client success, untangle the messy bits, lift the people around you, and still deliver with that calm, confident “yep, we’ve got this” energy.
This isn’t a small gig. It’s:
- Strategic ownership of a tight portfolio of the agency’s largest, most complex, omni-channel brands
- Real SLT backing - partnering directly with the Managing Director and Head of Client Service & Partnerships
- A chance to flex your digital / media / creative / strategic account leadership and level up the entire client experience

A peek at what you’ll own day-to-day:
✨ Client leadership + Commercial Clarity - Be the steady senior lead for Ryval’s most complex clients
- Own complex brand relationships with warmth, confidence, and boundaries
- Set (and reset) expectations early, especially when things get spicy or complex
- Run the delivery engine: scope, resourcing, forecasting, timelines, quality
- Drive retention + growth through proactive leadership (not reactive servicing)

Strategy that lands (and gets bought in) - Shape narratives and steer decisions - not just “present decks”
- Lead full-funnel / omni-channel strategy + planning (digital + offline)
- Tie every move to outcomes: “so what / why this / why now”
- Influence with a clear, confident POV
- Lift the strategic bar across the team through coaching + example

Team leadership + QA (elite delivery, always) - Lead a team of 5-6 absolute superstars: build capability, confidence, and momentum
- Coach, unblock, and create a high-performing culture
- QA the full pipeline: strategy, plans, reporting, client + partner comms
- Reduce bottlenecks, improve flow, and sharpen outputs
- Build pride in what the team ships

Agency leadership - Partner with leadership to deepen client partnerships and unlock growth
- Help shape how Ryval scales: smarter systems, stronger standards, better outcomes
- Be the calm, respected presence people look to when it matters
What we’re looking for in YOU!! - 8+ years in digital-first marketing/media, ideally in a sophisticated, high-rep agency landscape - owning outcomes end-to-end
- Proven senior client leadership exp. across large-scale + complex brands (commercially clever, deep in the detail)
- Currently in a Senior Account Director / Business Director / client leadership role and ready to hit the ground running
- Strong performance + data brain (media, analytics, tech, business strategy)
- Proper media planning + buying chops: tight plans, clean reporting, clean budget control
- Comfy straddling client strategy across digital + traditional (Digital, OOH, Radio, TV, etc.)
- Leadership that lands: coaching, clean feedback, development plans, confident reviews
- Pitch + growth energy - ideas and follow-through
- Full financial ownership: forecasting, revenue planning, minimising under/overspend, driving retention + growth
- Australian media market fluent, with strong publisher/media owner relationships (and escalation-level credibility)
