Shift Maintenance Engineer
City of London
£55,000 – £57,000 per annum

A fantastic opportunity has arisen with a leading building services provider, based within a prominent commercial property in the heart of the City of London.

Our client is highly regarded for investing in their engineers, offering clear career progression routes and continuous training to support long-term professional development. This role operates on a continental shift pattern (days and nights) and forms part of a well-established on-site engineering team.

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering both planned and reactive maintenance, emergency response, and remedial works across a range of building services systems. Candidates must be fully qualified in either Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, holding City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 qualifications.

Key Duties

• Planned and reactive maintenance (PPMs & Reactives)
• Single and three-phase power systems
• Motors and pumps
• Generators (on-load and off-load testing – LV/HV)
• Shutdowns and critical plant operations
• Emergency lighting testing
• Fire alarm testing
• AHUs, FCUs, and VAV systems
• Heat exchangers
• Minor plumbing works and tap temperature checks
• Sprinkler systems
• Water treatment and pressurisation units
• BMS operation and monitoring
• Statutory compliance and documentation
• Communicating effectively with the client on-site

Requirements

• City & Guilds / NVQ (or equivalent) in Electrical Installations or Mechanical Engineering
• Apprentice trained (desirable)
• Strong understanding of statutory compliance
• Career-driven, motivated, and reliable
• Polite, professional, and client-facing
• Able to work effectively as part of a shift team

Salary & Benefits
