Job Title:          Housing Officer (Tenancies & Anti-Social Behaviour)
Type:                Temporary – up to 2 months (potential extension)
Location:           Bristol
Salary:              £19.02 basic Paye / £21.32 incl paye / £24.77 umb
  
BRC are working closely with a respected housing provider to recruit an experienced Housing Officer with a strong background in anti-social behaviour (ASB) case management. This role involves the day-to-day management of a defined patch of homes, with a particular focus on tackling ASB, supporting residents, and creating safe, sustainable communities. The successful candidate will work closely with residents, internal teams and external agencies to prevent, investigate and resolve tenancy and neighbourhood issues.
  
Duties:

• Manage a caseload of tenancy and anti-social behaviour cases, from initial complaint through to resolution.
• Investigate ASB complaints, gather evidence, interview residents and witnesses, and agree proportionate action plans.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams, police, local authorities, and support agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
• Take enforcement action where necessary, including warnings, legal action, court attendance, and eviction processes.
• Support residents who are victims of ASB, keeping them informed and managing expectations throughout cases.
• Proactively manage estates and neighbourhoods, carrying out inspections and addressing environmental issues.
• Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
• Promote tenancy sustainment and provide advice or signposting to support services where appropriate.
• Contribute to community engagement and preventative initiatives to reduce ASB.

  
Requirements:

• Experience working as a Housing Officer or in a similar housing management role.
• Proven experience managing anti-social behaviour cases within a social housing or related environment.
• Good working knowledge of housing and ASB legislation, enforcement tools, and best practice.
• Experience of working with external agencies and attending multi-agency meetings.
• Ability to handle challenging situations with empathy, resilience, and professionalism.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and court-related documentation.
• Ability to manage a busy caseload and work on own initiative.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to travel as required.
