About the role
Our client Pantry D'or Boutique Bakery is a well-regarded bakery and café based in Rotorua, known for its quality food, warm atmosphere, and commitment to delivering an exceptional experience for every customer. As part of a wider hospitality group that also includes Lime Café and Shadehouse Café, Pantry D'or benefits from a strong team culture and a shared focus on excellence across all three venues.
They are now seeking an experienced Chef de Partie to join their kitchen team on a permanent basis. Based at Pantry D'or and providing support across Lime Café and Shadehouse Café as required, you will report directly to the Head Chef and take ownership of a designated section of the kitchen, producing high-quality food consistently and to specification across all service periods. This is a hands-on production role suited to a skilled and reliable chef who takes pride in their section, works well within a team, and is ready to contribute to a busy and well-run kitchen.
Key responsibilities
- Preparing and presenting all menu items in accordance with current recipes and specifications,
- Maintaining food safety and hygiene standards including accurate compliance with the Food Act 2014
- Monitoring and communicating section stock levels to the Head Chef, following portion control guidelines, and assisting with stock rotation and inventory checks
- Working collaboratively within the kitchen team, following the Head Chef's direction, and contributing to a positive and professional working environment
About you To be successful in this role, you will have a minimum of six months' experience working as a chef at any level in a professional kitchen, with demonstrated ability to produce food consistently and to specification. You will have a sound understanding of food safety requirements, the ability to manage your section efficiently under the Head Chef's direction, and a positive, team-focused attitude. Experience working in a café or hospitality environment would be an advantage. Above all, you will be reliable, professional, and committed to delivering a high standard of food every service.
