An exciting opportunity exists for a Permanent Full Time Safety and Resilience Officer within our Corporate Services Directorate, based in the Isaac Region. Reporting to the Senior Safety and Resilience partner, the Safety and Resilience Officer provides vital support in delivering Council’s health, safety and organisational resilience objectives. This role contributes directly to creating a safe, supported and well‑prepared workforce by assisting with safety programs, inspections, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation.

To be successful in this position, you will:
- Hold a minimum Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety and a C Class Open Australian Driver’s Licence.
- Bring a sound understanding of risk management principles, including hazard identification, risk assessment and control implementation.
- Demonstrate the ability to support and conduct safety audits, inspections and incident investigations with accuracy and professionalism.
- Be capable of interpreting and applying policies, procedures and relevant WHS legislation to operational activities.
- Possess strong problem‑solving skills with a proactive mindset toward safety improvements and best‑practice initiatives.
- Communicate effectively through clear written reports, accurate documentation, and confident verbal interactions with staff and contractors.
- Exhibit strong organisational and time‑management skills, including the ability to coordinate site visits, training sessions and safety record‑keeping.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships across teams, contributing to a collaborative and safety‑focused workplace culture.
- Demonstrate integrity, confidentiality and a reliable work ethic, particularly when handling sensitive information.
- Show enthusiasm for contributing to a safe, inclusive and resilient organisation, with a willingness to learn and grow within the Safety & Resilience field.
If you are successful in this position, you will receive: - Salary $82,791.82 - $90,205.62 per annum (Level 3 - 4, Stream A)
- This position offers flexibility to be based at any Council location within the Isaac region
- Nominally 72.5 hours per fortnight
- RDO’s in accordance with Council Policy
- 5 weeks annual leave @ 17.5% loading
- 15 days personal leave per annum
- Up to 14.5% super in accordance with Council Policy
