Technical Officer Corporate Assets

An exciting opportunity exists for a permanent full time Technical Officer Corporate Assets to join our Infrastructure Services Directorate in Moranbah.

As a Technical Officer within our Corporate Properties Department, you’ll play a key role in supporting the coordination, integration and delivery of capital works, leasing, maintenance and operational programs across Isaac Regional Council’s property portfolio. Your work will help ensure our buildings, facilities, plant and equipment are safe, functional and managed efficiently.
   
What you’ll be doing:

• Assisting with the administration and management of Corporate Properties projects
• Supporting procurement processes for minor works, ensuring compliance with Council requirements
• Contributing to project management activities
• Monitoring financial outputs to ensure competitive and cost‑effective service delivery
• Preparing reports and providing advice for internal and external stakeholders
• Reviewing purchasing arrangements to identify opportunities for cost-effectiveness
• Promoting a positive customer and community focus
• Leading procurement activities for the Corporate Properties team
• Reviewing, researching and implementing policies and procedures to improve asset management efficiency
• Contributing to the development of standard practices and methods
• Assisting with capital project close‑out and asset handover processes

What you need:

• Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
• High‑level written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prepare a range of documentation to support program objectives
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Experience with corporate enterprise systems like TechnologyOne or MS Project is advantageous
• Planning and scheduling experience
• Procurement experience, ideally within a local government setting
• The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; and
• Queensland ‘C’ class driver’s licence  

If you are successful in this position, you will receive:

• Salary of $97,373.54 - $103,919.64 (Stream A Level 5 - 6)
• Nominally 72.5 hours per week
• 5 weeks annual leave pro rata @ 17.5% loading
• Up to 14.5% super in accordance with IRC’s Certified Agreement
• RDO’s in accordance with IRC’s Certified Agreement
