SENIOR SITE MANAGER
Location: Middlesbrough
Salary: Up to £65,000 + package

The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Site Manager to join a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering a range of major infrastructure and construction projects across the UK.
The business has extensive experience across civil engineering, highways, structures, wastewater, drainage, earthworks, utilities and infrastructure, with projects ranging from development infrastructure and highway schemes through to complex reinforced concrete structures, water and wastewater works.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Site Manager or Senior Site Manager to take a key role in the delivery of a major project in the Middlesbrough area, working alongside an experienced project and engineering team.
The Role
As Senior Site Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful day-to-day delivery of works on site, ensuring activities are completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing and coordinating day-to-day site operations.
- Leading site teams and coordinating labour, plant, materials and subcontractors.
- Planning upcoming works and monitoring progress against the project programme.
- Working closely with the Project Manager and engineering team to ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings and specifications.
- Managing subcontractors and suppliers throughout the project.
- Monitoring productivity, progress and resource requirements.
- Ensuring high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality compliance are maintained.
- Maintaining accurate site records, reports and documentation.
- Liaising with clients, engineers, consultants and other project stakeholders.
- Identifying and resolving issues that may affect programme, quality or delivery.
- Providing leadership and support to site teams and encouraging a positive safety and quality culture.
About You The successful candidate will have a strong background in
civil engineering construction, with previous experience working on infrastructure or major civil engineering projects.
We're particularly interested in candidates with experience across areas such as:
- Highways
- Bridges and structures
- Water and wastewater
- Drainage
- Utilities
- Earthworks
- Reinforced concrete
- Infrastructure and development projects
You should be confident managing site teams and subcontractors and have a good understanding of construction programmes, site logistics and project delivery.
Requirements - Previous experience as a Senior Site Manager, Site Manager or similar within civil engineering.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering construction methods and processes.
- Experience managing subcontractors, labour, plant and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Good understanding of health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work closely with project managers, engineers, clients and subcontractors.
- SMSTS.
- CSCS.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Relevant civil engineering/construction qualification or equivalent experience would be advantageous.
