OPEN TO LOCAL CANIDATES OR THOSE WITH A RESONABLE COMMUTE
A dynamic, fun-loving family in Venice Beach is seeking an experienced rotational nanny to join their team of three nannies and care for their three school-age children. This is a high-energy position perfect for someone who thrives on variety, loves travel, and genuinely enjoys working with kids.
If you're looking for meaningful work with built-in time off, the flexibility to explore your own interests, and the chance to be part of a well-organized, collaborative household, this might be your ideal role.
The Schedule (Week-On/Week-Off)
Your Working Week:
- 7 days on, 7 days off rotation (alternating with another rotational nanny)
- Sleep-overs required 4 out of 7 nights during your working week (more flexibility possible depending on family needs)
- Typical workday: mornings helping get kids ready and fed, daytime activities/projects while kids are at school, afternoons/evenings managing after-school activities, homework, dinner, and bedtime
- Weekends during your week on: You manage the household solo (no housekeeper, no other nanny present)—expect early mornings (around 6am) and full-day solo care capability
Travel (The Fun Part): - This family travels frequently—especially over summer breaks, Christmas, and holiday weekends
- When traveling, the schedule shifts to 10 days on/4 days off OR 15 days on/10 days off
- Travel is live-in only (longer shifts, but you're immersed in the adventure)
- You may travel solo with support from their chef and housekeeping staff
- This is one of the most exciting aspects of the role if you genuinely enjoy travel and new experiences
Coverage: - You'll occasionally cover for the other rotational nanny, which might mean a 2-week stretch occasionally
- When parents are out of town, two nannies are always on duty for extra support
- Overtime is expected during busy seasons
The Team: - You're one of 3 nannies total on the team
- The other rotational nanny (your counterpart) communicates with you weekly to ensure smooth transitions
- A full-time M-F nanny handles school runs, errands, activity coordination, and stays late on your days off
- A house manager oversees scheduling, camps, medical appointments, and after-school activities
- A part-time chef cooks 2x per week; you'll prep simple, healthy meals the other nights
Who You Are Personality & Attitude: - Genuinely love travel — You're excited by new places, flexible schedules, and adventure, not stressed by them
- High energy & stamina — You can handle time zone changes, overnights, sibling squabbles, and the unpredictability of a busy household
- Team player — You take direction well, communicate with other caregivers, and collaborate with house staff
- Love kids AND dogs — This family has kids and a puppy; you're genuinely affectionate with both
- Positive, adaptable attitude — Changing schedules, last-minute adjustments, and shifting priorities don't rattle you
- Able to take direction — From parents, the house manager, and the other nannies. You're confident but coachable
Your Experience - Strong with kids ages 5-10+ — Looking for someone who can grow with this family long-term
- De-escalation skills — Experience managing sibling conflicts and redirecting challenging behavior
- Behavior management — Ability to set clear boundaries, maintain consistency, and keep kids engaged
- Calm under pressure — Proven track record handling stressful situations (medical emergencies, travel mishaps, etc.)
- Tech-savvy — Comfortable using computers, solving problems independently, ordering groceries online, setting up activities, managing apps
- Organized — You naturally see what needs to be done and take initiative without constant direction
Potential tasks you may be asked to do: - Keep all kids' spaces neat, organized, and accessible (closets, activity areas, bedrooms)
- Daily tidying and upkeep of the house (more organizing than deep cleaning—they have a housekeeper 4x/week)
- Maintain one of their 3 cars (daily upkeep, gas, cleanliness)
- Stay on top of laundry (kids' clothes and sheets weekly)
- Pack and prep kids for frequent travel using detailed checklists (you'll learn the system, then be able to pack for the other nanny)
During School Hours - Help parents get kids fed and ready in the mornings
- Work on projects assigned by the house manager while kids are at school
- Take initiative to tackle organizational tasks without waiting for a to-do list
- Meal prep, prep the kitchen for the chef, or handle light cooking prep
- Attend to kid-related tasks (appointments, activity prep, etc.) as coordinated by the house manager
After School & Evenings - Manage the heavy lifting: after-school activities, homework support, doctor appointments, bathtime, dinner prep/serving, bedtime routines
- Keep track of short and long-term school projects
- Help adjust and manage kids' after-school activity schedules
- Prepare for busy weekends
Weekends (When You're On) - Early mornings—you're up around 6am with the kids
- Prepare shared breakfast and manage the household solo
- Full-day solo care capability (managing all three kids independently if needed)
- Help tag-team birthday parties with parents or send kids to drop-off parties
- When parents join (which might be 1-6 hours), you may retreat to give them family time
- If parents leave with kids, help them head out the door, then work on household projects
Travel Weeks - 24/7 live-in care during family trips
- Work with chef and housekeeping support but no other nanny
- Maintain routines, manage kids, and keep everything organized across multiple locations
- Expect longer days and full immersion in family travel experiences

- Clean driving record—you'll be driving one of their cars

- Reasonable commute or flexibility to stay over 4 nights/week (you're home 3 nights/week during non-travel weeks)
- Willingness to be available for occasional overtime during peak travel seasons
