A wonderful, growing family in San Francisco is seeking one or two experienced nannies to join their household and care for their newborn infant. What We're Looking For: Essential Qualifications
- Newborn Care Expertise: Hands-on experience with infants (newborn-6 months), including feeding, sleeping, soothing, and developmental support
- Night Care Capability: Comfort sleeping in the baby's room during the early months to monitor and respond to the baby's needs
- Professional Warmth: A calm, nurturing presence with a soft approach to infant care; someone who leads by example rather than rigid rules
- Flexibility & Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a household that prioritizes baby-led care while maintaining professional boundaries
- Physical Capability: San Francisco homes involve stairs and inclines; you should be physically able to navigate a house with multiple levels and be comfortable with active mornings (daily walks, including steep hills)
- Growth-Oriented Mindset: This family plans to expand. We're looking for someone who can grow with them as their family evolves
Preferred Qualities
- Teaching/mentoring experience or ability to offer guidance from your experience
- Experience with combination feeding (breast and bottle)
- Comfort traveling with infants and young children
- Willingness to handle light childcare-related household duties
- Knowledge of age-appropriate sleep transitions and baby development
- Pet-friendly (family may get a dog in the future; dog walking skills a plus)

The family is open to two structures.
Read carefully—choose the one that fits you: Option 1: Live-In Nanny (Single Position)- One full-time professional living in the family's home, providing consistent, comprehensive care for the infant.
Coverage: Full-time, live-in arrangement with scheduled time off
Ideal For: Someone seeking full immersion in family life and maximum consistency in caregiving
Option 2: Rotational Nanny Structure (Two Professionals) Two experienced nannies working on a rotating schedule (e.g., 7-on/7-off or 14-on/14-off rotations), allowing each caregiver dedicated time off between work blocks.
Coverage: 24/7 coverage with two professionals sharing responsibility
Ideal For: Experienced nannies who value extended time off and sustained, energized caregiving; professionals who love to travel or manage other commitments between work blocks
About the Family
- Values: Baby-led care approach; responsive to the infant's cues s
- Parenting Style: Warm, nurturing, non-strict; they practice co-sleeping and contact naps while transitioning to crib sleeping
- Lifestyle: Active family with a morning walk routine; they travel domestically and internationally and need a nanny who can accompany them
- Baby's Temperament: The infant has a relaxed, calm disposition and is sleeping well for their age
- Current Support: Professional newborn care specialist in place through mid-July; willing to overlap one week for transition support
- Expected Growth: First child of hopefully more; this is the beginning of a long-term caregiving relationship
Key Responsibilities
- Comprehensive Infant Care: Feeding (bottle and breast milk combination), diaper changes, soothing, and developmental play
- Night Care Support: Monitoring baby during night hours (first 2 months especially)
- Sleep Transition Support: Assisting with sleep progression from co-sleeping to independent crib sleeping as the baby develops
- Observation & Communication: Providing parents with detailed updates on the baby's development, milestones, and any concerns
- Travel Accompaniment: Traveling with the family as needed (domestic and international)
- Light Household Duties: Tasks directly related to baby care (laundry, bottles, baby-related spaces)
- Professional Partnership: Offering experience-based guidance while respecting parents' authority and primary decision-making

Compensation
Compensation is competitive and tailored to your experience level, expertise, and the chosen position structure (live-in or rotational).
- LIVE-IN NANNY (Single Position) Hourly Rate: $45-$60/hour
- ROTATIONAL NANNY (Two Professionals - 7-on/7-off or 14-on/14-off)Hourly Rate: $45-$60/hour (Annualized Equivalent: $150k-$200k/year (accounting for time off)
