THE COMPANY
Our client is a mid-sized processor, merchant and export business with a strong presence in Central Victoria where it’s hay processing operation supplies export markets. An experienced Production Coordinator is required to manage the hay/straw processing and packing operation which has recently undergone a multimillion-dollar upgrade.

THE ROLE
The Production Coordinator is required to supervise and lead a team of approximately 5 to 10 persons and to maximise operational efficiency. Prior production experience is required which could be in any one of hay processing, stockfeed, the food industry or similar manufacturing. A sound mechanical or maintenance background would also be highly regarded.
The major duties of this role are as follows:

• Provide supervision, management and leadership to the manufacturing operation, this includes maintenance of plant & equipment;
• Take responsibility for the efficient and productive day-to-day running of the plant and the preparation of accurate production reports;
• Liase with relevant contractors to keep the plant running optimally (electrical, hydraulic, mechanical etc);
• Promote an environment of awareness for safety in the workplace and ensure that all Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures are observed by staff.

Requirements

• Prior experience in stockfeed, hay or food manufacture, or similar;
• Well-developed communication and reporting skills;
• Previous experience in hands on leading a team;
• Be a motivated leader, with a hands-on style (you are part of the team working the machinery);
• A high level of personal and professional standards;
• Be committed to ensuring a safe, healthy workplace and environment.  

Location and Remuneration
The role is located at Avoca VIC, in the Central Highlands of Victoria about 20 minutes from Maryborough.
