Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in Greenwich, are looking for an experienced Electrician to join their team and to work across domestic and commercial properties, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and delivering a high-quality service to Borough residents.
 
Position: Electrician
Rate: £32.94 per hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35) 
Contract Duration: Four months
Working Hours: 36 per week (Wed - Fri)

Job Purpose:
To undertake highly skilled electrical work across domestic and commercial properties, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and delivering a high-quality service to Borough residents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide a wide range of professional electrical services across all contracts managed by Building Services.
• Perform repairs, maintenance, and installations on domestic and commercial wiring systems, ensuring all work meets BS7671 latest edition standards.
• Complete and certify electrical work, ensuring compliance with NICEIC or equivalent certification.
• Conduct fault diagnosis and repairs on various electrical installations.
• Operate and maintain electrical testing equipment, ensuring annual calibration is conducted.
• Work independently or as part of a team to provide efficient and courteous service to residents.
• Supervise and train apprentices and other trainees as required.
• Maintain records of work completed, materials used, and variations to work orders.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, Building Regulations, and the council's policies.
• Respond to emergency call-outs and contribute to borough-wide emergency responses if necessary.
• Liaise with supervisors, administrative staff, and residents regarding job orders and variations.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in a safe and operational condition.
• Attend training as required to stay updated on industry standards and regulations.

Essential Experience and Qualifications:

• Fully qualified electrician with 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent qualification in Inspection & Testing.
• Extensive experience in domestic and commercial electrical systems.
• Strong knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation and Building Regulations.
• Experience working on installations and fault diagnosis in compliance with BS7671.
• Ability to work independently and within a team, providing excellent customer service.
• Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle.

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to use IT systems and handheld devices for work management and documentation.
• Willingness to participate in emergency call-outs and respond as required.
