About the Opportunity
Oncall is a market leader in language services, providing interpreting, translation and transcription solutions across Australia and internationally. We partner with government, healthcare, and corporate clients to support diverse communities with services that matter.
The Finance Director is a hands-on role within Oncall Language Services, offering the opportunity to strengthen Oncall’s financial operations. This role will provide the opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager/Company Accountant that has aspirations to grow their career and manage and grow their own team.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will oversee the financial management of a group of entities, ensuring compliance, accurate reporting, and financial insights that drive profitability.
  
Key Responsibilities
  

• Lead financial reporting, compliance, and financial performance across multiple entities and oversee cash flow, operating expenses, and financial risk management.
• Prepare and present monthly financial statements, providing strategic insights directly to the Executive Team.
• Manually create BAS, P&L and Tax statements as well as other required statutory reporting in line with Australian and International Accounting Standards.
• Mentor and support the functions of the finance team (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Finance Manager, Payroll).
• Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and accounting standards.
• Establish and maintain best practice financial policies and procedures.
• Interpret financial data into tangible recommendations for the CEO and Executive team.
• Liaise with external company auditors and other external stakeholders as required.
• Contribute to tender pricing strategies

  
About You
  

• Tertiary qualified in Finance or Accounting (CPA/CA preferred but not essential).
• 5+ years’ experience in financial management and accounting.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and commercial acumen.
• Experience working directly with C-Suite and Executive Teams.
• Excellent attention to detail and a drive for process improvements.
• Strong communications skills; both written and verbal.
• Ability to work within an agile and ever-changing environment; resilience, ambition, and collaboration will be essential to working in this fast-paced environment.
