Hours of Work: Guaranteed a minimum of 30 hours per week. Rotating roster, including weekends.
Employment Type: Full-Time Permanent position
Rate per Hour: $32.00 - $34.00

The Sous Chef role offers an exciting opportunity for the experienced culinary professional looking to take the next step in their career.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and direct food preparation and culinary activities involved for the service the hotel’s outlets.
• Assist the Head Chef in controlling food ordering and labour cost requirements
• Quality control and “final touch” of all prepared plates
• Undertake supervision duties ensuring that all kitchen employees maintain high standards of service.
• Assist in all staff and training within the Hotel kitchens and ensures that all records required by the Hotel are maintained to established standards.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications Preferred

• 1-2 years experience in a similar role (preferred)
• A certificate at NZQF Level 4, or higher, in Cookery preferred.
• A current Food Handling Certificate is beneficial.
• Passion for food and dedication to delivering high-quality dishes.
• Flexible in availability to work morning and evening shifts.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn. 
• Responsible and reliable, with the ability to work early mornings and weekends.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
