On behalf of our client, a well-regarded Wellington-based civil engineering consultancy, I am looking for an Intermediate Civil Design Engineer to join a growing team delivering a strong pipeline of land development and civil infrastructure projects.
This is a standout opportunity for an engineer who has built solid technical capability and is now ready for more ownership, more variety, and a clearer path toward senior-level responsibility.

- Design stormwater, wastewater, water supply, earthworks, and roading solutions.
- Prepare design drawings, calculations, and supporting technical documentation.
- Use Civil 3D to produce coordinated, practical, and buildable designs.
- Support project delivery while building exposure to client engagement.
- Contribute to contract management and construction monitoring activities.
- Work closely with internal teams, councils, and external stakeholders to keep projects moving.

- A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Typically 3–6 years’ experience in a New Zealand civil design consultancy environment.
- Strong Civil 3D capability.
- A solid understanding of civil engineering design principles, methods, and materials.
- Working knowledge of contract management and construction monitoring.
- Familiarity with New Zealand design standards and local authority requirements.
- The drive to keep developing technically and professionally as you step toward senior-level responsibility.
Why join them? This is a business that genuinely backs its people. Strong culture, recognition, and support are more than just words here — they’re part of how the team works every day. You’ll join an environment where your contribution is valued, your development is encouraged, and you’ll have the backing to grow your career while delivering quality work.
What’s on offer
- Clear career development pathways and support toward professional accreditation.
- 15 days of paid sick leave from day one.
- Fully funded Southern Cross Wellbeing One Health Insurance (optional).
- Employer contribution toward annual skin health checks.
- One paid volunteer day each year.
- Paid birthday leave.
