We are representing a leading building services consultancy seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their Auckland CBD team. You’ll work across mechanical, hydraulic and sustainability (ESD) services, contributing to high-performing, low-carbon buildings and collaborating closely with clients and internal teams.
About the role
This role offers hands-on involvement in mechanical and hydraulic building services design, along with exposure to ESD and building physics. You’ll contribute to design delivery, coordinate with project teams, and engage with clients—helping shape better-performing buildings.
You’ll work across a range of projects from concept through to construction, supporting technical delivery and sustainability outcomes.
Key responsibilities
• Deliver mechanical and hydraulic building services design across a range of projects.
• Lead and contribute to ESD services, supporting sustainability initiatives and targets.
• Undertake thermal modelling, natural ventilation analysis and other building physics assessments.
• Produce high-quality documentation and ensure compliance with relevant standards and project requirements.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and engage with clients to achieve successful outcomes.
What we’re looking for
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• New Zealand building services consultancy experience.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic building services systems.
• Sound understanding of New Zealand Standards and Building Code requirements.
• Experience with energy and building modelling (IES preferred).
• Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Growth mindset and genuine interest in sustainable design.
