A New Zealand owned and operated hotel located in the Auckland Airport Precinct is seeking a passionate and motivated Demi Chef to join the team on a casual, rostered basis. This role will support both the A la carte restaurant and conference operations, helping to meet short term staffing needs within the Kitchen Department and ensure smooth day-to-day service.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook menu items under the supervision of the Chef de Partie.
Assist with ingredient preparation before service.
Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented to the highest kitchen standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the assigned section.
Monitor stock levels and report any shortages to the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.
Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and health and safety regulations.
Support the training and development of Commis Chefs and Kitchen Hands.
Step in to manage the section in the absence of the Chef de Partie.

job Requirements:
Must have experience as a Demi Chef
Proficient in all sections of the kitchen, with experience in modern, high end cuisine and function catering is required.
A skilled and passionate culinary specialist who loves keeping abreast of food trends.
Focused on enhancing our guests experience by ensuring superb food and service.
Experienced in monitoring and adhering to health & safety regulations in the kitchen.
Professional with effective communication skills, and an aptitude for multi-tasking.
Able to work across any shifts AM/PM including weekends and evenings.
A team player with a natural ability to motivate and train the junior chefs.
A driving license and own transport would be an advantage as public transport in the area is poor.
