Our Planning & Environment team has gone from strength to strength and is engaged in a wide range of litigation, advisory and contractual matters across a diverse client range spanning both the public and private sectors. With the team continuing to grow in volume and breadth of work, it is an exciting time to join a team well known in the market for its supportive and positive culture.
About the role
The practice enjoys a balance between Government clients, and private sector developer clients. You will work on a wide range of matters for a sophisticated and growing client base. Types of matters you will work on include:
- Land and Environment Court litigation;
- Advice on issues such as permissibility, statutory interpretation of planning instruments, development contributions, environmental law compliance, contamination;
- Drafting planning agreements, works in kind agreements and unique agreements in the Government space;
- High quality ‘out of the box’ questions and legal projects for Government clients.
About you
We are seeking a lawyer with 2-4 years PAE with strong analytical, research and writing skills that can be deployed in the context of litigation, contractual drafting, and written advice. You will be adept at deep dive research, sophisticated statutory interpretation, and drafting in a precise manner. Ideally, you will have exposure to and an interest in Land and Environment Court litigation.
This is a chance for a talented lawyer who is either seeking to step up to at an Associate level for the first time, or a current Associate who wants to forge a pathway to Senior Associate, based on your legal skills, ability to work as part of a team that values its ‘high trust’ culture.
