About the role
In this full time, front of house position, you will provide reception, generalist admin and office support to a team of lawyers, professional staff and four partners (who are also supported by legal assistants). This is a highly collaborative team with opportunities to further develop skills in legal administration and will suit pro-active candidates who enjoy working in a close-knit team environment.
The successful candidate will benefit from working in a brand-new office space and impressive reception area. This is a great opportunity to join a high functioning, positive and supportive team with highly regarded specialist lawyers who engage in interesting and varied work within Dispute Resolution & Litigation, Corporate & Commercial and Workplace Relations & Safety.
Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Responding to incoming calls and direct messages in a clear and professional manner
- Welcoming clients and external visitors
- Maintaining contact with receptionists in other offices to ensure cover and a nationally consistent approach
- Coordinating incoming and outgoing mail, booking couriers, assisting with court brief runs and court lodgements as required
- Photocopying, archiving and filing
- Managing meeting room bookings and general diary management
- Arranging refreshments and catering as required for client meetings and events
- Ensuring stationery, office and kitchen supplies are maintained
- Assisting with office events on occasion
About you You will have prior experience in administration, reception or office support, ideally from a legal, professional services or government background. You will have a genuine interest in developing your career in legal admin support with a can-do attitude and commitment to achieving client/ firm outcomes.
You will also possess the following attributes/ skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication, including the ability to foster positive working relationships
- Strong organisational skills and the capacity to adapt to changing environments and priorities
- A keen eye for detail, strong sense of initiative and problem solving
- Active team member, completing tasks and assisting others to complete tasks
- A strong work ethic and enthusiasm for desired outcomes
- Sound judgement, uses discretion and deals with sensitive information appropriately
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, with the ability to learn new systems quickly and efficiently
This role is an all-rounder position and will suit those who enjoy variety, as well as developing new skills.
