We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to join our growing team. In this high-impact role, you'll oversee the end-to-end supply chain, supporting mission-critical defence project.
About the Role:
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for the identification, sourcing and contracting of goods and services as well as the freight, logistics and warehousing of delivered goods to site. This is a leadership role and includes team members in Sourcing, Procurement and Warehousing as well as stakeholders in the Global Supply Chain team.
Key responsibilities include:
• Leading the Supply Chain Management team.
• Proactively participating in recruitment activities for supply chain team members as per the approved schedule and ensuring they are appropriately trained.
• Managing the identification of potential suppliers of required goods and services to support approved Kongsberg Programs.
• Managing the sourcing selection to provide competitive options for the supply of goods and services for Kongsberg in Australia.
• Managing and Leading negotiations with suppliers to achieve the best outcomes for Kongsberg.
• Managing the contracting of suppliers through Purchase Orders and General Supply Agreements.
• Managing the receipt and storage of all material being delivered to site and ensuring stocktaking activities are undertaken in a timely manner.
• Managing the freight and logistics of material being shipped to and from site.
• Supporting the implementation and operation of the Kongsberg Production System based upon lean principles to ensure high levels of product quality and create a culture of continuous improvement.
• Providing the necessary reporting on Supply Chain Management performance for nominated Programs and at the corporate level.
• Liaising closely with Global Subject Matter Experts based in Norway in support of Kongsberg programs being undertaken in Australia.
• Supporting the Director Operations in the development and management of budgets, schedules and providing necessary progress reports.
What you'll Bring:
- Significant Leadership experience in a similar role, in a Defence project environment within Defence or Defence Industry.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
- Experience in manufacturing quality and lean manufacturing
Mandatory Requirements:
- Must be able to access information controlled under the US International Traffic of Arms Regulations (ITAR).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an Australian security clearance.
