KONGSBERG Australia is seeking an experienced
HSE Business Partner to provide strategic advice, coaching and operational support to our leaders and teams.
This is a hands-on and influential role for an HSE professional who can build strong relationships, challenge thinking and translate HSE requirements into practical outcomes. You will partner with operational leaders to strengthen our proactive HSE culture, manage risk, ensure legislative and system compliance, and drive continuous improvement across the business.
About the role: As a HSE Business Partner, you will:
- Partner with operational leaders to strengthen HSE culture, systems and capability.
- Provide expert advice on risk, hazard identification and operational controls.
- Lead incident investigations, including ICAM, and drive corrective actions to closure.
- Monitor HSE performance, conduct audits and report key risks and trends to leadership.
- Support environmental compliance, waste management and regulatory requirements.
- Provide support for injury management, workers' compensation and return-to-work processes.
- Lead HSE consultation, site inspections, inductions and safety committee participation.
- Support contractor HSE management and compliance.
- Promote continuous improvement and compliance with KONGSBERG's HSE framework and Corporate Values.
What you'll Bring:
Essential
- Tertiary qualification in WHS, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
- Lead Investigation training and ICAM or equivalent incident investigation experience.
- Internal Audit qualification.
- Extensive operational HSE experience, preferably within heavy industry, manufacturing, defence or complex multi-site environments.
- Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation, standards and industry requirements.
- Strong environmental management and legislative compliance knowledge.
- Demonstrated experience in electrical, plant and equipment safety.
- Proven ability to engage, coach and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience leading HSE initiatives and managing HSE contractors.
Desirable
- Environmental Management or Occupational Hygiene qualification/experience.
- First Aid and/or Mental Health First Aid certification.
Mandatory Requirements: - Must be able to access information controlled under the US International Traffic of Arms Regulations (ITAR)
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an Australian security clearance.
