About the role:
KONGSBERG Australia is seeking an experienced and motivated ICT System Administrator to join our team and play a key role in supporting the reliable, secure and effective operation of our IT environment.
This is an opportunity to work across a diverse IT infrastructure, including on-premises and cloud environments, servers, virtualisation, networks, identity management and end-user technology. You’ll work closely with colleagues and stakeholders across KONGSBERG Australia and Norway, helping ensure our technology continues to support critical business operations.
This role will see you:
- Install, configure, maintain, and support core IT infrastructure, with a primary focus on hybrid on-premises/cloud servers and virtualised environments, while also managing corporate networks and end-user devices.
- Provide Level 2 and 3 technical support, including troubleshooting, updates, and user assistance.
- Manage routine patch deployments and system updates of responsible systems, during approved maintenance windows to maintain security and system integrity.
- Support the integrity, security, and performance of KA ICT systems, including data backups, disaster recovery, and incident response.
- Assist in planning, developing, and maintaining IT infrastructure, business continuity plans, and process documentation.
- Provide input into future technology requirements and ICT infrastructure topology in collaboration with KONGSBERG IT.
- Support ICT procurement and vendor/service provider management.
- Manage ICT issues and incidents, ensuring timely resolution and post-incident analysis.
- Implement and maintain security measures, audits, and assessments in line with corporate security frameworks.
- Maintain close working relationships with key stakeholders within KONGSBERG (both in Australia and Norway).
What you'll Bring:
Essential
- Relevant IT qualification (Cert III, Diploma or Bachelor’s degree) or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience administering Windows Server, Microsoft Entra ID and/or Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure and business requirements.
- Awareness of Australian Defence ICT and cybersecurity standards.
- Practical cybersecurity knowledge, including security controls and compliance.
Desirable
- Microsoft, VMware or Cisco certifications.
- Knowledge of ISM and DSPF requirements.
- Defence or Defence industry experience.
Mandatory Requirements: - Must be able to access information controlled under the US International Traffic of Arms Regulations (ITAR)
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an Australian security clearance.
