About the role: As a Production Supervisor at Kongsberg Missile Factory, you’ll play a key leadership role in supporting Australia’s sovereign defence capability. Leading a skilled production team, you’ll oversee manufacture, assembly, inspection and testing of advanced missile systems.
This is a hands on leadership opportunity suited to someone who enjoys supporting teams, maintaining high standards and contributing to a collaborative manufacturing environment focused on safety, precision and continuous improvement.
As a Production Supervisor, you will:
- Provide day-to-day leadership to a production team in a high complexity, low volume environment ensuring safe high quality and on-time delivery.
- Act as a visible hands-on leader on the production floor, proactively managing disruptions, resolving issues in real time and maintaining workflows across concurrent builds.
- Lead effective daily direction setting meetings, using data and visual boards to review performance, set priorities and follow-up actions.
- Set clear expectations, allocate work, monitor progress and provide regular feedback to ensure team performance and engagement.
- Ensure quality standards for workmanship are upheld and non-conformances are accurately recorded and resolved.
- Collaborate across the business with other team leads including Planning, Supply Chain, Engineering and Quality to support smooth operations.
- Support the Production Planning team to develop production schedules and allocate resources effectively across production activities.
- Where required, perform testing and inspection activities, including quality controls, of sub-assembly and fully assembled product.
- Develop and maintain workforce capability through on-going training, competency development and cross-functional upskilling across the end-to-end production process.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement across the production floor through the application of Lean principles, including structured problem solving, visual management and the maintenance of disciplined 5S workplace standards.
What you'll Bring: - Certificate IV in Aeroskills, Manufacturing or Engineering discipline or equivalent
- Previous experience leading and supervising teams
- Experience in delivering instruction, training and team guidance
- Experience working within a quality focused manufacturing and/or maintenance environment
- Experience assembling and interconnecting electronic or electro-mechanical components and systems
Desirable: - Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Degree in Leadership in Management
- Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Degree in in electrical, electronic or other related disciplines
- Currently hold an Australian Security Clearence (NV1 - highly desirable)
Mandatory Requirements: - Must be able to access information controlled under the US International Traffic of Arms Regulations (ITAR).
- Must be an Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain an Australian security clearance.
