We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our growing team. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you'll operate both independently and as part of a high performing team, taking real ownership of manufacturing outcomes.
You'll work closely with production, technicians, engineering, quality and configuration teams to ensure production targets are achieved without compromising quality.
About the role:Under the guidance of the Engineering Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer will support manufacture and maintenance of Naval Strike Missiles and Joint Strike Missiles by:
- Executing daily production support activities.
- Demonstrating local technical ownership of selected manufacturing processes.
- Applying global routings and instructions and developing local rework / repair routings.
- Providing practical Design For Manufacture feedback.
- Developing and maintaining work instructions, procedures and production documentation.
- Participating in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing activities.
- Operating, maintaining, calibrating and troubleshooting Special Tools and Test Equipment.
- Developing, processing and dispositioning Non Conformance records.
- Supporting the design engineering team with creation of manufacturing artifacts (for example a manufacturing BOM from an engineering BOM).
- Supporting supply chain improvements and supplier uplift, including support of manufactured items sourced through local industry with associated FAI and NC tasks.
- Supporting CAPEX assessments and qualification of new equipment and processes.
- Driving shop floor improvements and reporting insights.
- Leading cross-functional manufacturing engineering activities, including Production Readiness Review and First Article Inspection activities.
What you will bring: - A Bachelors degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering.
- Experience working in quality-controlled environment (ISO9001 or AS9100).
- Exposure to design and/or manufacturing of complex assemblies and sub assemblies (aerospace, defence or similar industries).
- Strong problem solving skills and a hands on approach to improving processes.
Mandatory Requirements: - Must be able to access information controlled under the US International Traffic of Arms Regulations (ITAR).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an Australian security clearance.
