The Opportunity
In this role, you'll be responsible for developing, negotiating and profitably underwriting business within authority. You'll work closely with brokers, building strong and trusted relationships, balancing new business growth with retention, and ensuring customers receive competitive, sustainable insurance solutions. This is a great fit if you enjoy relationship‑led role, and working across a diverse and socially impactful portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Underwrite and negotiate profitable business within authority, aligned to company strategy
• Prioritise and manage your own workload to meet agreed objectives, SLAs and service standards
• Use the right communication method (phone, face‑to‑face, email) to support a "right first time" approach
• Act on audit feedback and development plans, including CPD, CII study and internal training
• Work within the regulatory framework, escalating risks where appropriate
• Analyse statistical and portfolio data using specialist tools
• Maintain accurate records of underwriting decisions and policy information
• Support broker relationships, including occasional broker visits

What You'll Bring

• Cert CII (or commitment to achieve)
• Strong knowledge of the insurance market
• Proven track record of delivering excellent customer service
• Confident verbal communicator with strong relationship‑building skills
• Commercial insurance experience (essential)
