The Claims Handler will manage a varied portfolio of commercial insurance claims, ensuring efficient progression from first notification through to settlement. The role requires strong technical capability, confident communication with clients and insurers, and the ability to deliver a high‑quality claims service within a fast‑moving broking environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesClaims Management

• Handle a portfolio of commercial claims including Property, Liability, Business Interruption and Motor Fleet.
• Manage the full claims lifecycle: notification, investigation, documentation, negotiation and settlement.
• Assess policy coverage, liability and quantum, escalating complex matters where appropriate.
• Maintain accurate and compliant records within Acturis and other internal systems.

Insurer & Third‑Party Liaison

• Work closely with insurers, loss adjusters and external specialists to progress claims efficiently.
• Negotiate settlement outcomes and challenge decisions where required.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with key insurer partners.

Client Service & Communication

• Provide clear, timely updates to clients throughout the claims process.
• Manage expectations professionally and offer guidance on claims strategy.
• Support Account Executives with claims reviews, renewal preparation and client meetings.

Technical & Operational Excellence

• Produce accurate technical reports, causation summaries and escalation documentation.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal governance requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of claims processes and service delivery.

Skills & Experience Required

• Experience handling commercial insurance claims within a broker or insurer environment.
• Strong understanding of policy wordings, coverage interpretation and claims negotiation.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage client and insurer relationships.
• High attention to detail and strong organisational capability.
• Proficiency in Acturis (preferred) or similar claims systems.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
