What you will be responsible for:
You'll play a pivotal role in enhancing the insurer's proposition by owning and improving policy documentation and supporting the wider underwriting community. Key responsibilities include:

• Acting as a specialist referral point for policy wordings and reinsurance, coaching underwriters and ensuring consistent technical standards across the business.
• Drafting and reviewing policy wordings, summaries of cover, clauses, and application forms to ensure they meet legal, regulatory, and reinsurance requirements.
• Supporting the development and enhancement of products, including wording updates, governance activity, and market research to ensure the proposition remains competitive.
• Working closely with Group Underwriting, third‑party suppliers, Underwriting Operations, and Distribution to refine documentation, improve underwriting tools, and strengthen the overall proposition.
• Ensuring all documentation and processes align with regulatory frameworks (including ELTO, product oversight & governance, audit, and DA management), and escalating risks where required.
• Leading and contributing to underwriting development projects that support growth, quality, and operational efficiency.

What our client is looking for:
Qualifications & Knowledge

• Cert CII required; Dip CII preferred or working towards
• Strong understanding of general insurance principles and regulatory frameworks
• Experience drafting and reviewing policy wordings

• Analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to identify and escalate risk appropriately
• Clear, concise written communication and the ability to produce well‑reasoned recommendations
