Responsibilities
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
- acting for employers and employees across a variety of sectors, including financial services, charities and not-for-profits, education and early learning, aged care, disability support, labour hire and natural resources;
- acting on advisory and contentious matters, including underpayments, award classification, enterprise bargaining strategy, child safety and reportable conduct, employment-related privacy and data protection issues, post-employment restraints, application of Australian employment laws in overseas jurisdictions, unfair dismissals, general protections, discrimination, bullying and sexual harassment, and work health and safety;
- appearing in the Fair Work Commission and other courts and tribunals;
- drafting contracts, court documents, written advice and policies;
- having direct contact with clients; and
- assisting the Partner with business development activities that will build your professional profile.
RequirementsTo be considered for this role, you will have:
- Approximately 2 years’ post-admission experience in workplace relations law – candidates with experience working as a lawyer outside of private practice will also be considered;
- Excellent organisational, critical thinking, drafting and communication skills; and
- Ability to adapt
In addition, you will:
- be an enthusiastic and personable lawyer who has a passion for client service;
- have the ability to work effectively in a team-based environment, as well as autonomously; and
- have a desire for continuous development.
