Turks are currently seeking a Legal Assistant to join our General Insurance practice group in Melbourne, for at least 3 days per week.

As part of a team of 70 across Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne, the successful candidate will work closely with the Practice Group Head and their team of Partners, Lawyers and clients.

Responsibilities
You will take responsibility and ownership over a range of tasks, including but not limited to:

• preparation and drafting of court documents/correspondence;
• diary management;
• brief preparation;
• monthly billing;
• opening/closing files;
• executive/ personal assistant duties as required;
• assisting lawyers as necessary; and
• general secretarial and administrative tasks.

Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will have:

• 1-2 years + recent experience as a legal assistant/secretary/admin assistant;
• billing experience desirable;
• exceptional organisational skills; and 
• a meticulous eye for detail and accurate proof reading skills.

In addition, you will:

• have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
• ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively to work within tight time frames;
• enthusiastic, committed and proactive approach to work;
• a commitment to a career in legal support; and
• ability to work autonomously and within a team.
