The remuneration package includes a range of attractive professional and personal benefits including:
- Permanent Position
- Hours: Full time
- Base salary $91,220.34 per annum
- SGC + 11.5%
- Tennant Creek Zone Allowance $1.89 per ordinary hour
- Relocation Expenses up to $5,000
About You Barkly Regional Council is looking for a qualified WHS Coordinator to take charge of embedding the organisation’s WHS change agenda within the full breadth of the Council’s services. Candidates should have a strong grasp of WHS concepts and be able to work closely with the CFO who will guide the Council’s WHS strategies. You will be a great communicator and be able to drive change “at the coal face” and in particular out in the community with the ultimate aim of improving safety and well-being for across the Barkly Regional Council.
About the Role Reporting to the CFO, as the Work Health and Safety Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting the management and staff of the Barkly Regional Council to maintain a safe and compliant workplace. In this full-time role, you will provide proactive assistance with inspections, recommendations, training, and compliance efforts related to Work Health and Safety (WHS) across all operational activities. You will also ensure appropriate support for WHS programs, equipment, and reporting requirements. Most importantly you will play a vital role in improving and embedding WHS systems and processes out in community.
About The Organisation Barkly Regional Council (BRC) is a Local Government entity that operates in the Northern Territory with BRC’s head office located in Tennant Creek. - Relevant qualifications in WH&S
- Good interpersonal skills including working with Aboriginal people
- Demonstrated experience in administration.
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Current CPR Certificate
- Current Driver’s Licence.
- Current National Criminal History Check (within the last 3 months).
- Current Northern Territory Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card).
